Abstract:

To provide a new compound which has absorption maximum in a near infrared region, and which enables high photoelectric conversion efficiency as a sensitizing dye, and to provide a dye-sensitized solar cell using the compound.

The acrylic acid-based compound is expressed by general formula (1) (wherein A denotes an atomic group which has absorption maximum in a near infrared ray region; Y denotes an atomic group which has a π electron conjugated structure; X denotes a hydrogen atom or an electron-withdrawing substituent; and n and m are each an integer of 1 or 2).
