To obtain an acrylic fiber excellent in moist heat characteristics, without decreasing an excellent feeling original to the acrylic fiber and mechanical properties, and further to provide a method for industrially and easily producing the acrylic fiber.
This acrylic fiber with excellent characteristics has ≥18 g/d modulus in moist heat at 95°C, and ≥15% elongation at break at a room temperature. The method for producing the acrylic fiber in a dry or wet spinning method, comprises dissolving an acrylonitrile-based polymer including ≥50 wt.% acrylonitrile in a solvent thereof to provide a solution having 26-40 wt.% concentration, and 1000-10000 poise viscosity of the solution at 50°C, extruding the dope from spinning nozzles in 5-50 mm airgap, introducing the extruded dope to a coagulation bath, and taking out the coagulated yarn from the coagulation bath in 5-50 spinning draft at 50-500 m/min taking out rate.
