Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce an activated carbon fiber hardly causing pressure drop even in case of passing water at a high speed, having excellent chlorine remov ing performance even at short contact time and capable of removing efficiently free chlorine in water, especially in a hot water of ≥35°C and to provide a removing method of the chlorine.
CONSTITUTION: In this fiber, specific surface area is 800-2500m2/g, one or ≥2 kinds among calcium, potassium, sodium and magnesium are incorporated of ≥750ppm in total, and a surface functional group ratio (O1S/C1S) measured by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) is 0.10-0.30.
