Abstract:
To provide a pretreatment method for activated carbon which is used to adsorb removal target substances in a metal-containing solution containing cobalt ions and/or nickel ions, and which can suppress the degradation of the purity of cobalt and/or nickel extracted from the metal-containing solution, and also to provide a metal recovery method which uses such activated carbon.SOLUTION: In the activated carbon pretreatment method, intended for pretreating activated carbon before the activated carbon is used for adsorption, the activated carbon which is used for absorbing removal target substances in a process of extracting cobalt and/or nickel from a metal-containing solution containing cobalt ions and/or nickel ions, and which contain iron is washed with a cleaning solution which contains cobalt ions and/or nickel ions.SELECTED DRAWING: None
