PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease excess sludge, to simplify equipment and to reduce the cost by aerobically treating an org. waste water, then separating the treated liq. into treated water and sludge, oxidizing the high-temp. solubilized liq. formed by solubilizing the excess sludge at a high temp. with ozone and again aerobically treating the excess sludge.
SOLUTION: The raw waste water A in a raw waste water storage tank 10 is introduced into an aerator 14 through a line 12 and undergoes aerobically biological treatment, and the treated water B in introduced into a setting device 16 to separate solid from liq. A part D of the separated sludge is joined to the line 12 through a reflux line 18 and introduced into the aerator 14, and the remaining sludge E is introduced into a solubilizer. The sludge is solubilized at a high temp. under feebly aerobic conditions and then digested at a high temp. under aerobic conditions. The solubilized liq. F is introduced into an ozone-oxidation device 31 through a heat exchanger 28 to convert the difficult- to-biodegrade org. matter such as high molecular polysaccharides to the low molecular matter and then introduced into the aerator 14.
