Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly activate an airbag device, even when a noise is superimposed on the output signal of a sensor used for setting a threshold to activate the airbag device, as to an activation control device for the airbag device.
SOLUTION: A satellite sensor and a floor sensor are provided at the front part of a body and at the center part of the body respectively. An operated value f (Gf) and a velocity Vn are found by applying a prescribed process to deceleration Gf detected based on the output signal of the floor processor. If a value determined by the relation between both of them exceeds a prescribed threshold variation pattern, an airbag device is activated. In addition, the threshold variation pattern is predetermined by selecting one among from a Hi map, Lo1 map, Lo2 map, and a Lo3 map based on the deceleration detected based on the output signal of the satellite sensor. In this case, if a map different from one in the past is predetermined as the threshold variation pattern, the threshold variation pattern is switched to a desired map, after that condition continues for some time corresponding to the difference between both maps.
