To provide an active RFID tag which can be authenticated at a security gate while being stored in a bag or the like, enables the location of the tag and a person holding the tag to be accurately measured and to be notified to a manager, and to provide a security system using the active RFID tag.
The active RFID is provided with a memory 4, a CPU 5 for controlling the transmission/reception of information by a low frequency radio communication circuit 2 and a high frequency radio communication circuit 3 and a battery power source 6 for supplying driving power to each means. The CPU 5 compares gate identification information received by the low frequency radio communication circuit 2 with the gate identification information of permission provisions registered in the memory 4 when the person passes the security gate means 11 arranged in a monitor zone, and when those information are matched, the CPU transmits passage permission information by the low frequency radio communication circuit 2, and transmits the tag identification information registered in the memory 4 in the monitor zone and the gate identification information of the security gate means 11 through which the person has passed by the high frequency radio communication circuit 3.
