To provide an active energy setting type ink jet image recording device, capable of recording images with high quality by continually setting constant distance between an active energy setting type ink jet head and the recording medium for preventing contamination at the tip of the ink jet head.
This active energy setting type ink jet image recording device is provided with a corona electrification part upstream of an ink discharge position of an image recording part. The recording medium is electrified by the corona electrification part to improve holding force to a placement surface. As it is carried to the ink discharge position with high holding force, the surface of the recording medium is uniformly set, so that the distance between the ink discharge tip of the image recording part and the recording medium is continually set constant. High quality images are obtained, and possibility of attachment of ink to the ink discharge tip of the image recording part is reduced.
