Abstract:
To provide a negative electrode material for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having an excellent recovery characteristic for overdischarge.
A negative electrode comprising lithium containing compound nitride represented by the general formula: Li3-x-yAyMxN (wherein, A is an alkaline-earth metal; M is a transition metal; 0.2≤x≤0.8; and 0≤y≤0.2) is used for the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery. As the alkaline-earth metal A in the lithium containing compound nitride, preferably at least one of the elements selected from the group comprising Mg and Ca is used.
