Abstract:
To provide an active material for improving electron conductivity of titanium oxide and providing a rechargeable lithium ion secondary battery having large capacity and high output density.
The active material consists of oxide of which main element is titanium (IV) and has at least a conductivity of 10-6 S/cm when particle molded under pressure of 10 MPa, provided by thermal treatment of titanium (IV) oxide in a reducing atmosphere containing at least one selected from a group of hydrogen, ammonia and carbon monoxide, at a temperature from 600 to 900°C.
