To provide the driving circuit of an active matrix type current- controlled type light emitting element which is capable of suppressing a display unevenness of luminance of light emitting elements caused by the dispersion in the threshold voltages of transistors or the like and in which circuits compen sating offset voltages are incorporated and with which a satisfactory picture characteristic can be obtained with a relatively small number of transistors.
In this driving circuit, the driving method of an EL (electroluminescent) panel in which a voltage to be applied to a data line is made to be a binary voltage and fluctuation of the characteristic of the EL element can be suppressed by applying a reverse bias voltage to the elements for a fixed period is provided.
