Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3794196
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spacial optical modulating device having high definition modulating pixels which are not obtd. in a conventional device. SOLUTION: This spacial modulation device consists of an active matrix substrate 102 having switching elements 101 for driving pixels, a transparent substrate 103 facing the substrate 102, and an electro-optic medium 104 held between the substrates. The electro-optic medium corresponding to the pixel 105 is equipped with at least two driving electrodes 107 to apply an electric field and with a pixel separator 106 to physically separate pixels arranged on the active matrix substrate 102.
