To provide an active noise eliminator which displays an effective silencing effect even in the case in which a microphone for detecting a noise is close to a loudspeaker for silencing.
A noise wave outputted from a noise source 107 is detected by a microphone 109 for detecting a noise, a canceling wave canceling this wave is generated by an active control section 111, and it is outputted from a loudspeaker 113 for silencing. This synthesized wave is measured by a microphone 115 for detecting an error, it is fed back to the active control section 111 and a canceling wave is corrected. As the loudspeaker 113 for silencing and the microphone 115 for detecting an error are arranged in the case in which silencing is performed, it is prevented that the microphone 109 for detecting a noise picks up a canceling wave from the loudspeaker 113 for silencing and feeds back it. Also, when the inside of a room 5 is silenced, since a state holding command section 13 holds up to state and stops operation of the active control section 111 when a door 7 of the room 5 is opened, when the door 7 is closed, operation is instantly started from a state before the door 7 is opened.
