Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To changeover an automatic lock to an idle lock when necessary, by providing a second manipulating rod urged by a spring member.
SOLUTION: An inner hole having a noncircular cross section is formed in a retractor shaft 14 of a latch bolt used as a dead bolt in common. And a second manipulating rod 22 made of a square shaft is set in the longitudinal direction so as to slide, at the outdoor side manipulating member 19 rotatably attached to the outside face of a door. And a circular sectional part 22a thinner than a round inscribed rod in the inner hole of the retractor shaft 14, is formed at the end of the indoor side. When it is changed over to the idle lock, the deformed sectional part 22b of the second manipulating rod is fitted to the retractor shaft to mutually connect the retractor shaft 14 and the outdoor side manipulating member 19. When it is changed over to the automatic lock, the first manipulating rod 21 is moved to the outdoor side by the interlocking structure 20 driven by a manipulating lug and the deformed sectional part 22b of the second manipulating rod is pushed out of the inner hole of the retractor shaft 14.
