Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow outputting of failure signals only when a current limiter value of a motor driver is within a non-operable range in detecting a failure, thereby eliminate outputting of failure signals by mistake and allow a quick judgement on whether the actuator is normal or failing.
SOLUTION: In this actuator control unit, assumed is an actuator model 11 having a transfer function with a control characteristic similar to an actual machine of an actuator. A failure is determined by comparing an actuator positional signal 12 of this model and a signal transmitted by a feedback sensor 25 of the actual machine actuator, and a failure signal is output if necessary. The actuator signal 12 of the model is compared with an actuator positional signal 13 of the actual machine by an adder 30. If an absolute value 16 of the difference between the signals exceeds a predetermined threshold 17, and if an absolute value 19 of the current signal 15 of a current limiter 34 is within a non-operation range 18 of the current limiter, a failure signal 10 is output after a certain time delay is made.
