To provide an actuator element which can operate stably in the air or in vacuum and can be driven with low voltage.
This actuator element can produce curvature or transformation by giving a potential difference to an electrode layer, with at least two pieces of electrode layers 2 consisting of a gel-form composite of carbon nanotubes and ionic liquid being formed in insulated states on the surfaces of an ion conductive layer 1 consisting of a gel-form composite of ionic liquid and polymers, or this actuator element can produce curvature and transformation by giving a potential difference to the conductive layer, with at least two pieces of electrode layers 2 being formed in mutually insulated state on the surfaces of the ion conductive layer 1 and further conductive layers 3 being formed on the surfaces of the electrode layers 2.
