Title:
ACTUATOR HAVING TWO DEGREES OF FREEDOM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3255236
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the length of the title actuator in its axial direction by arranging a motor for rotation, radial magnetic bearing, and rotational position sensor on the outside of the outer peripheral surface of a rotary mobile shaft and linear motor, gap sensor, and axial direction position sensor on the inside of the inner peripheral surface of the shaft and aligning them in the rotational and axial directions.
CONSTITUTION: An electromagnet 5 for guide is excited so that a gap value detected by means of a gap sensor 51 can fall in a prescribed target value range. In addition, the stator 31 of a linear motor 3 is excited so that a position value in the axial direction detected by means of a linear position sensor 9 can fall in a prescribed target value range. Under such condition, a rotary mobile shaft 4 is supported so that the shaft 4 cannot be brought into contact with the stators 21 and 31 of a motor 2 for rotation and linear motor 3 and can have two degrees of freedom in movement in the axial direction in which the shaft 4 is lifted by means of the linear motor 3 and rotational direction in which the shaft 4 is rotated by means of the motor 2 for rotation. When such constitution is used, the length of this actuator can be reduced, since it is not necessary to align the motor for rotation and linear motor in the axial direction.
