Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator which performs different functions with one vibration source and thus allows equipment mounted with the actuator to be reduced in size and weight, and an informing device using the actuator. SOLUTION: An actuator 10 used in an informing device 50 is provided with a diaphragm 12, and an exciting means 20 comprising a piezoelectric element 21 which causes the diaphragm 12 to vibrate and a drive circuit 22. The drive circuit 22 outputs to the piezoelectric element 21 a driving signal which corresponds to the resonance frequency of its vibration system, and thus vibrates the diaphragm 12 to cause a diaphragm 51 for information to generate bodily sensible vibration. In addition, the drive circuit 22 outputs to the piezoelectric element 21 a driving signal which corresponds to the higher-degree resonance frequency of its vibration system, and thus vibrates the diaphragm 12 to cause the diaphragm 51 for information to generate audible sound.
