Title:
ACTUATOR INSTALLING STRUCTURE FOR VEHICULAR HOOD FLIP-UP DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH11348716
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide an actuator installing structure for a vehicular hood flip-up device which can protect an obstacle by absorbing and mitigating a secondary crash between the obstacle and an upper surface of the hood at the time when the obstacle falls down on the hood after crash.

When a crash detecting means detect that a front end of a vehicle crashes with an obstacle, a rear end 5a of a hood 5 is flipped up by operation of a cylindrical actuator 8 as a flip-up means. The cylindrical actuator 8 is installed on a vertical wall surface of a vehicular body in such a way that an operation force thereof works upwardly. A reinforcing member is provided between a vehicular body panel 2 and the actuator 8, thereby absorbing a reaction force of the vehicular body side generated when the actuator 8 operates, so that the hood is certainly flipped up.
