Abstract:
PURPOSE:To perform the reduction in the size of an actuator and the increase of a drive force by providing an auxiliary permanent magnet which generates a magnetic flux in the same direction as the magnetic flux generated fro the magnet in the circuit of the magnetic flux. CONSTITUTION:An actuator in a magnetic disk unit has a housing, a head arm, a magnetic head, and is driven by a drive coil 4. The assembly magnetic circuit of the coil 4 has an outer yoke 7 of reverse U-shaped as shown, and a yoke 6 made of a center yoke 8 secured to its post 7a. A permanent magnet 9 is secured to the yoke 7, and a drive coil 4 is rockably provided in an air gap 10 between the magnet and the yoke 8. In this case, an auxiliary permanent magnet 12 for forming the same magnetic direction as the magnet 9 is provided between the pole 7a of the yoke 7 and the yoke 8. Thus, the magnetic flux density of the a magnetic flux circuit 11 increases to increase a drive force F.
