Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce the titled novel polymer useful as a functional polymer because of its high reactivity, and soluble in organic solvents, by polymerizing an acylated conjugated diene monomer in the presence of a radical polymerization initiator under specific condiction.

CONSTITUTION: The objective polymer of formula II (CM is comonomer; n is 2W10,000) is produced by polymerizing (A) an acylated conjugated diene monomer of formula I [R1 is 1W6C (halogenated) alkyl, etc.; R2 is H, 1W6C alkyl, phenyl, etc.; R3 and R4 are H, methyl, Cl, etc.] in the presence of (B) a radical initiator, an anionic polymerization catalyst (e.g. Li-n-C4H9) or a coodination polymerization catalyst [e.g. Al(C2H5)3-TiCl4], and if necessary, in the copresence of (C) of a comonomer and (D) a polymerization solvent, at -80W +110°C for 10minW200hr.

EFFECT: Functional groups can be introduced easily. A polymer having high molecucar weight is useful as a resist materal for IC, etc.
