Abstract:

To provide an adapter which can functionalize various types of optical systems appropriately for a lens interchangeable type camera system.

An adapter comprises: a first mount unit to/from which a camera body is attachable and detachable; a second mount unit which is provided independently of the first mount unit, and to/from which an interchangeable lens is attachable and detachable; and a power supply unit which generates supply voltage of a third power supply system and a fourth power supply system to feed for the interchangeable lens attached to the second mount unit from a second power supply system, among first and second power supply systems of the camera body attached to the first mount unit, which can supply higher voltage than the first power supply system.
