Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an adapter which engages an optical plug and an optical receptacle of different types while ensuring quality and optical fiber positioning accuracy.
CONSTITUTION: The adapter includes a housing 10 which receives an optical plug connector 30 at one end and receives back panels 20-1, 20-2... 20-n at the other end. The back panels 20-1, 20-2... 20-n have different engagement parts 22-1, 22-2... 22-n based upon the industrial standards. This adapter can engage any type of connector such as an SC type connector, an ST type connector, an FC type connector or others with, for example, an FDDI type connector or ESCON type connector.
