Abstract:
To provide a system and a method to adaptively control acceleration of a vehicle by use of one pedal drive function where an operator can drive with one pedal.SOLUTION: A system and a method to adaptively control acceleration of a vehicle is given in which: an accelerator pedal is detected, when a vehicle travels at a first speed except a zero speed according to a default accelerator pedal map, to be completely released; when it is detected that the accelerator pedal is completely released, the vehicle is decelerated and a first accelerator pedal map is changed to an adaptive accelerator pedal map; when the vehicle is decelerated, the adaptive accelerator pedal map is corrected according to decrease of the speed of the vehicle; and when the vehicle is decelerated and it is detected, before the vehicle speed becomes zero, that the accelerator pedal is stepped down to accelerate the vehicle again, the vehicle is controlled based on the corrected adaptive accelerator pedal map to be reaccelerated without being decelerated further.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3A
