To provide an adaptive noise suppressing speech encoder which detects a noise level during current talk, makes it possible to eliminate the noise or reduce an influence thereof, and also prevents a signal processing time from increasing by integrating the speech encoder and a noise suppressor in one body and further simplifying the software.
An adaptive noise suppressing speech encoder without a malfunction due to noise can be obtained by paying attention to a feature of an auto- correlation function between a speech signal and noise, subtracting a noise component from the auto-correlation calculated by an auro-correlation function calculating circuit 1303, obtaining an auto-correlation function of only the speech signal, creating a speech encoding parameter by a prediction coefficient calculating circuit 102 using the value, and further eliminating the noise by an internal operation of the speech encoder by a block A for eliminating the noise during talking.
