To provide addition damping mechanism of floating body type seismic isolation structure capable of restraining floating body from behaving horizontally with respect to horizontally external force acting on the floating body in periodic band identical to natural period of the floating body.
The addition damping mechanism is configured so that a damping structure 8 is installed on pit side wall 5 of seismic isolation provided on pit 3 of seismic isolation. The damping structure 8 is configured by a member including permeability and is formed on spacial structure body including predefined thickness and area. The mechanism is installed in height range between height of upper limit of oil level in liquid 6 and pit bottom surface, when fluid movement perpendicular to liquid 6 alternately arises on both sides of floating body structure itself 2 by the floating body structure itself 2 moving in horizontal direction after earthquake or the like takes place.
