To provide an additive giving out no odors to be incorporated for imparting flame retardancy, a thermoplastic resin composition obtained using the additive, a molded product obtained using the same, and a fiber assembly.

The additive for a thermoplastic resin exhibiting excellent flame-retardant effects contains a phosphate mixture (A) comprising a phosphate represented by general formula I or general formula II (wherein n is 1-15), containing 40 wt.% or less of a component represented by the general formulae where n is 1, having an acid value of 15 eq/106 g or less and containing 0.2 g/kg or less of residual phenols. The thermoplastic resin composition has the additive imcorporated thereinto.
