Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the LAN address-setting system in the duplicate system, where the diagnosis and check job is conducted while keeping an on-line state during the operation of other computer.
SOLUTION: The system is provided with a LAN address storage section 37 that stores communication LAN address, in common to the duplicate system (MAC address 'MAC1'+IP address 'IPO') and a LAN address storage section 21 that stores diagnostic LAN addresses different form the communication LAN addresses (MAC address 'MACD'+IP address 'IPD'), and a standby system computer 30 reaching the operation mode at the diagnosis after a fault in the master system computer 10 sets the 'MAC1' to a MAC address buffer 35 and sets the 'IPO' to an IP address buffer 36 to continue communication with an external device. On the other hand, the computer 10 sets the 'MACD' to a MAC address buffer 15 and sets the 'IPD' to an IP address buffer 16 to diagnose the communication function in on-line.
