PURPOSE: To obtain high quality TAB tapes at high yield by making the surface of a protection film easily removable on an adhesive side with a light release agent, and what is more, by specifying a residual adhesive rate.

CONSTITUTION: An adhesive-coated tape for TAB basically consist of a flexible insulation film and adhesive and protection film being laminated in this order. Preferably, the adhesive layer is a thermosetting type or a semi-setting type where the surface of the protection film on the bonding agent side is made easing removable with a light release agent. What is more, the residual rate of the adhesive is required to exceed 60%. In the case when the residual adhesive is less than 60%, the light release agent is apt to remain on the adhesive of the TAB tape. When the light release agent remains on the tape, solder heat resistance drops so that conductor release strength may degraded. Silicon resin is preferably used as a light release agent.
