To obtain an adhesive composition having excellent initial adhesive strength, etc., by compounding an acrylic or a methacrylic acid-(meth)acrylic ester-ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer emulsion with an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer emulsion.
This composition is obtained by compounding (A) 100 pts.wt. (solid content) of an acrylic or a methacrylic acid-(meth)acrylic ester-ethylene- vinyl acetate copolymer emulsion, containing 0.3-5 wt.% of acrylic or methacrylic acid and 10-75 wt.% of an acrylic or a methacrylic ester and having -45 to -30°C glass transition temperature (Tg) and preferably ≥60 wt.% solid content with (B) 50-150 pts.wt. (solid content) of an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer emulsion having -5 to +10°C glass transition temperature (Tg). The resultant composition is capable of simultaneously manifesting the heat resistance and adhesive strength in the normal state after aging and is suitably used for bonding operations by a dry bonding method such as a profile lamination processing.
