Abstract:

PURPOSE: An adhesive consisting of a polymer only obtained by copolymerizing a thermosetting vinyl monomer with an ethylene-propylene-nonconjugated diene terpolymer (EPDM), or its mixture with EPDM.

CONSTITUTION: An adhesive composition consisting of A) a polymer only obtained by copolymerizing b) 1W200 parts by wt. of a thermosetting vinyl monomer, e.g., N-methylolacrylamide, etc. with a) 100 parts by wt. of an ethylene-propylene- nonconjugated terpolymer, or B) a blend of the ingredient A with b), and if necessary, C) a compounding additive for vulcanization, e.g., benzoyl peroxide, an inorganic filler, etc.

EFFECT: Improved bonding strength between vulcanizable EPDM rubbers together.
