PURPOSE: To provide an adhesive which is used for water-resistant corrugated boards and has excellent productivity and workability, by a method wherein a vinyl alcohol resin powder is blended with an emulsion of a specified ethylene-vinyl acetae copolymer.
CONSTITUTION: A PVC resin which is diffucultly soluble in cold water and rapidly dissolved (or swelled) when heated (particularly under pressure with heating in a bonding process), is used. An eq. dispersion (having a viscosity of pref. 300W 1,500cp at ordinary temperatures) of the particles, having a particle size of 100 mesh or below, of the PVC resin, is mixed with an emulsion of an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer having an ethylene content of 5W40wt%. It is preferred to use an emulsion resulting from the emulsion polymn. of ethylene with vinyl acetate in the presence of 0.5W2.5wt% (based on the weight of the vinyl acetate) of an anionic surfactant, 4W7wt% of a nonionic surfactant and 0.2W1wt% of a water- soluble colloid.
