Abstract:
An adhesive that during the stacking of raw material for composite material after adhesive application, would not make reaction advancement, and that on the other hand during hardening at thermocompression molding, would exhibit rapid temperature sensitivity; a composite material (especially, board) containing the adhesive that excels in productivity, secondary processability, water absorption swell ratio, flexural modulus and peel strength; and a process for producing the composite material. The adhesive is characterized in that it consists of a first agent containing 100 parts by weight of polyol (a) of 150 to 4000 weight average molecular weight containing no nitrogen atom and, per 100 parts by weight of the polyol (a), 0.5 to 65 parts by weight of compound (b) containing a nitrogen atom and a second agent containing an organic isocyanate compound, and that with respect to at least one mixture obtained by using the first and second agents in a proportion such that the sum of components (a) and (b) of the first agent per 100 parts by weight of the organic isocyanate compound of the second agent is in the range of 2 to 35 parts by weight, the hardening time thereof measured in accordance with JIS K6807 satisfies certain specified requirements.
