To provide an adiabatic casing structure of a low temperature rotary machine capable of suppressing increase of quantity of heat transferred into low temperature from normal temperature through a compartment wall and increasing withstand pressure.
The adiabatic casing 40 is composed of the first casing 41 which end is fixed to an adiabatic chamber wall 1, the second casing 42 which end is fixed to an operating device 3 and an intermediate cooling ring 43 located between the first casing 41 and the second casing 42 and connecting them. The first casing 41 and the second casing 42 are composed by cylindrical members with thin wall respectively and the intermediate cooling ring 43 is of ring-shaped member containing a passage passing liquid nitrogen or helium gas. At least one of the first casing 42 and the second casing 43 are composed of thin wall parts 41a and 42b reducing a heat transfer and tapered parts 41b and 42b gradually increasing from them.
