Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handy and highly accurate adipometry of the volume of subcutaneous adipose existing in a layer close to the surface of a human body in terms of the cross section thereof or the like and the volume of visceral adipose existing inside the human body in terms of the cross section thereof or the like.
SOLUTION: Current is made to flow from a current source 4 between two electrodes 2-3 for current arranged almost as opposed to each other on the outer circumference of a human body 1 sandwiching the human body 1 to measure a voltage with a voltmeter 7 as generated between electrodes 21-22 for measurement which are arranged almost at an intermediate position between the two electrodes 2-3 for current on the outer circumference of the human body 1 in such a manner that the distance therebetween is sufficiently shortened as compared with the length of the outer circumference of the human body 1. An adipose calculation part 25 calculates the amount of adipose of the human body 1 using a value of the measured voltage multiplied by a power square of a characteristic quantity reflecting the size of the human body 1.
