PURPOSE: To enable a bushing to be assembled at an optimum tolerance into a hole with prescribed inner diameter by equipping an adjusting part to enable the outer diameter of an outside element of a part which has an elastomer insert compressively put in between inside and outside elements.

CONSTITUTION: This elastomer bushing 12 which is assembled to enable limited mutual articulation motion of first and second members in the suspension of a motor vehicle is constituted of an outside element 18, inside element 20, and an elastomer insert 22 put in between the both elements 18, 20. An adjusting part 29 which enables the outer diameter or the outer circumference to be limitedly changed is equipped on the outside element 18. The adjusting part 28 is formed, for instance, as a slit 26 extended in the axial direction, an inward bending extended in the axial direction, or a number of waveforms. Thus, when the outer diameter of the outside element 18 is larger than the prescribed inner diameter, the outer element 28 can be reduced to enable it to be fit in the prescribed inner diameter.
