Abstract:

To accurately distribute fuel while a relatively simple means by using the signal of a sensor detecting the composition of exhaust gas for obtaining an adjustment value to correct the signal determining the control time of a fuel quantity determining factor (fuel injection time) in the prescribed operation state of an engine.

The prescribed fuel quantity is distributed and fed by a fuel distributing device 30 to operate an internal combustion engine 10, and measured values 15 indicating the operation state (engine brake state, fuel cut state or the like) of the internal combustion engine 10 are detected by various sensors 40 and fed to a control device 20. Control pulses 35 to be applied to the fuel distributing device 30 are calculated by the control device 20 based on the measured values 15 and other parameters 25 such as the quantity fed from a revolution speed sensor 45. The control pulses 35 are corrected based on the composition of the exhaust gas, particularly the signal indicating hydrocarbon concentration, and the fuel injection quantity is controlled by the corrected control pulses.
