Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an adsorbent excellent in adsorbing capacity of a phosphate ion while having a wide adsorbing pH region by using a composite prepared by containing zirconium (IV) oxide hydrate in activated carbon as the adsorbent.
CONSTITUTION: As an adsorbent for adsorbing and removing phosphate or an org. substance in waste water or tertiary treated water, a composite obtained by containing zirconium (IV) oxide hydrate in activated carbon is used. This adsorbent has extremely high adsorbing capacity of a phosphate ion and is excellent in adsorbing capacity of an org. substance and a pH region in adsorption is wide.
