To provide an adsorbent material containing a copper ion-exchanged ZSM-5 type zeolite, which is inexpensive compared with a conventional type, and is capable of adsorbing a large volume of gas at an ordinary temperature and pressure or at an ordinary temperature and a reduced pressure.
The adsorbent material contains at least a copper ion-exchanged ZSM-5 type zeolite having an ion exchange rate of not less than 100% and not greater than 200% wherein copper ion exchange is carried out batchwise in the copper ion exchange process of the ZSM-5 type zeolite, and the amount of an ion exchange solution containing copper ions is not less than 50 ml and not greater than 200 ml per 1 g of the ZSM-5 type zeolite before copper ion exchange, whereby a low cost production is possible because of the reduction of an ion exchange number of times compared with a conventional adsorbent material, and the gas adsorbing volume not less than the same volume as that of the conventional one is possible.
