Title:
DENTURE STABILIZING AGENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH06197
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve functionability and usability by incorporating alginate and an org. or inorg. salt of physiologically permitted nonphosphoric acid system as a binder into the above stabilizing agent at a specific ratio of the entire part of the prepn. and making combination use of this binder with absolute polyhydric alcohol as a dispersion medium.

CONSTITUTION: This denture stabilizing agent is formed by compounding the alginate, such as sodium alginate, the org. or inorg. salt of the physiologically permitted nonphosphoric acid system and the absolute polyhydric alcohol. The sodium alginate to be used as the binder is the extract of sea weeds and is used without limitation in the amt. of use as a natural food additive. For example, calcium chloride, etc., are used as the org. or inorg. salt of the physiologically permitted nonphosphoric acid system and the compounding amt. thereof is 0.005 to 5wt.% of the weight of the entire part of the prepn. The stabilizing agent solidifies as time passes by if the compounding amt. is below 0.005wt.%. The skin roughening, etc., of the prepn. arise if the amt. exceeds 5wt.%. The absolute polyhydric alcohol to be used as the dispersion medium includes, for example, glycerine, ethylene glycol, etc.
