Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas adsorbing material on which many kinds of gases can be adsorbed and which can easily be fixed to an optional portion and used.SOLUTION: The gas absorbing material is a carbon nanotube assembly comprising a plurality of carbon nanotubes or is obtained by growing the plurality of carbon nanotubes 10 in parallel toward the vertical direction from the surface of a base material having a sheet-like shape to form a layer of the carbon nanotube assembly 100 on the base material 30. It does not matter if a plurality of carbon nanotube layers are formed so as to be stacked on the base material. The shear adhesive force, which is shown by the tip of the gas adsorbing material, namely, the tip of the carbon nanotube assembly to the surface of glass, is made equal to or higher than 10 N/cm.
