PURPOSE: To miniaturize an adsorption tower and to improve installation performance by making a dead space (a gap wherein no adsorbent is packed) in the upper part of the inner structure of the adsorption tower small.
CONSTITUTION: In the structure of an adsorption tower 10 wherein an upper part nozzle 12 and a lower part nozzel 14 are formed and the adsorption tower 10 wherein an adsorbent 22 is packed is used inside is used and a target gas in a mixed gas is selectively separated by means of a pressure swing adsorption method, the adsorbent 22 is packed up to the position in the neighborhood of the upper nozzle under a condition where the surface of the upper part of the adsorbent 22 is ensured and a screens 23 and 24 are attached on the upper face of the adsorbent 22 and a ceramic ball layer 26 is formed on the upper part of the screens 23 and 24.
