PURPOSE: To reduce the weight and size of an adsorption type refrigerating machine by reducing the amount of adsorbing agent.

CONSTITUTION: The vapor of refrigerant, which is evaporated in an evaporator 7, is pressurized by a pressurezing machine 12 and, thereafter, is induced into an adsorbing device 1a or desorbing device 1b so as to be adsorbed by adsorbing agents 2a, 2b under a high pressure. The flow rate of the refrigerant vapor, desorbed from the adsorbing agents 2a, 2b, is regulated by a vapor flow amount regulating valve 13 whereby the fluctuation of pressure in a refrigerating circuit, which is generated when the adsorbing device 1a and the desorbing device 1b are switched from adsorption into desorption, can be prevented.
