Abstract:
To provide an aerial image display device with which the downsizing of the device and the improved quality of displayed images both are realized.SOLUTION: An aerial image display device 1 has a light output device 3, a retroreflection material 4 and a polarizing beam splitter 5 arranged in a row on the same straight line in this order in a state where surfaces of these members are parallel. The retroreflection material 4 is constituted by a retroreflection film 10 where a retroreflection structure 13 is formed, and a transparent material 15 for sandwiching the retroreflection film 10 so as to fill recesses and protrusions attributable to the retroreflection structure 13. Thus, light entering a material back surface 6 of the retroreflection material 4 is made to pass through the material while scattered reflection caused by the recesses and protrusions of the retroreflection structure 13 is suppressed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
