To obtain the subject composition capable of imparting an excellent gloss and a smooth touch to skin, hair, etc., and excellent in usability by including a specific high-molecular weight silicone, a low-boiling oil, a lower alcohol, a propellant, etc., for an aerosol therein.

This composition is obtained by including (A) 0.01-5 wt.% of one or more kinds of high-molecular weight silicones represented by the formula [R1 is methyl or phenyl; R2 is methyl or OH; (n) is 3,000-20,000], (B) a low- boiling oil in an amount required to dissolve the component A, (C) 1-40 wt.% of a lower alcohol (preferably ethanol), (D) 50-99 wt.% of a propellant for an aerosol and preferably further (E) a low-molecular weight silicone fluid substance, and (F) a hair setting polymer. The composition is prepared by mixing a solution obtained by dissolving the component A in the component B with the components C and D in an aerosol vessel. The composition is preferably a cosmetic (e.g. a hair cosmetic or a skin preparation for external use).
