Abstract:
To provide an aerosol-generating system.SOLUTION: An aerosol-generating system comprises a device comprising a power supply and an electrical heater connected to the power supply; and a substrate cartridge containing an aerosol-forming substrate in the form of a thermoreversible gel that is solid at room temperature; where the substrate cartridge is configured to be inserted into or connected to the device before use and is removed or disconnected from the device after use. The provision of the aerosol-forming substrate as the gel may be beneficial for both storage and transport of or during use of the aerosol-forming substrate. The gel is solid at room temperature, so that leakage during storage and handling is not a problem. Providing the heater not into the cartridge but into the device allows simple and inexpensive production of the cartridge.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
