To provide an aerosol product for cleaning a diesel engine intake system which not only can well clean the intake system without dismounting the diesel engine but also reduces abnormal high revolutions and knocking of the diesel engine, and a cleaning method using the same.

The aerosol product for cleaning a diesel engine intake system is composed of a container having an injection outlet in which an aerosol detergent composition comprising a detergent component preferably containing an aromatic hydrocarbon solvent and a propellant is filled in an injection amount (excluding a non-combustible compressed gas when used as the propellant) of the above detergent composition from the above outlet in the range of 6-3 g/10 sec (at 25°C) and can be introduced into the diesel engine intake system while running the engine to clean the intake system. The method for cleaning a diesel engine intake system is disclosed.
