To reduce a settling time of a reception frequency, to quicken a start-up of a reception and to improve speech interruption in the case of mobile reception by storing a control voltage in a receiving state and applying the stored voltage to a local oscillator at the start of the reception.
The receiver receives a signal simulating a digital audio broadcast(DAB) with an accurate frequency from SG (a standard signal generator) 20. A control circuit 11 controls accurately an oscillating frequency of a local oscillator (VCO) 21, and an AFC(automatic frequency control) voltage is written in a memory 15 via a switch circuit 14. At application of power in the case of actual reception, an output of an OR circuit 17 is at a low level and a switch circuit 13 is connected to the L side. The VCO 21 starts the AFC operation with a voltage stored in the memory 15. After the lapse of a prescribed delay time by a delay circuit 18, an output of the OR circuit 17 goes to an H-signal, the switch circuit 13 is connected to the position of H-side and, the VCO 21 is controlled by an AFC voltage from the control circuit 11.
