Abstract:
To provide an agent for controlling rheology for a lubricant which, when added to a lubricant, can impart remarkably high solution modulus of elasticity while retaining sufficient fluidity as a liquid, and to provide an oily composition with its rheology characteristics remarkably improved.
The agent for controlling rheology for a lubricant comprises a polyether having a polymerized unit represented by general formula (I). The oily composition comprises this rheology controlling agent and a lubricant. In the formula, R1 is a hydrogen atom, a 1-42C hydrocarbyl group or a group represented by the formula: -(AO)m-R2, wherein R2 is a 1-28C hydrocarbyl group; A is a 2-3C alkylene group; and m is a number of 1-100.
