PURPOSE: To provide the titled inducing agent containing a separated polysaccharide component of ginseng as an active component.
CONSTITUTION: A ginseng (plant of Araliaceae family, e.g. Panax ginseng, Panax notoginseng, Panax quinquefolium, etc.) is preferably crushed, extracted by immersing in water or a water-soluble organic solvent, and precipitated by adding an organic solvent to the extract. The precipitate is subjected to the chromatography with an ion exchange resin or a gel-filtration agent to obtain the objective polysaccharide component (e.g. composed of arabinose, galactose, glucose, etc. and having a molecular weight of preferably ≥100,000). It can be used also or the remedy of cancer, etc. It is administered orally or parenterally in the form of powder, granule, tablet, capsule, syrup, injection, etc. at a dose of preferably 0.1W1,000mg/day in the case of oral administration in 1 W several divided doses.
